Today: photoshoot, a bit of proofing, laundry, get the kids signed up for the library summer reading program, and family movie night. Oh, it's a great day. :)

Ready Set Go!

Blogging on the run...it's a two shoot day...and a two latte day. :)
So, here's a sneak peek. I loved every single second of this shoot. Even the major trespassing part. Hehe! Tons more coming this weekend, so check back in and say hi. Isn't it nice when people say hi? :)

I have to mention this before I forget...

Things I learned from yesterday:

*I have the best family in the world.
*The grass really does look better when mowed.
*BBQ is good.
*Our son grows like 3 inches a day. (he's almost 13)
*There are still great independent coffee houses out there. If you are in the Springs, check out Dogtooth Coffee.
*We have the most awesome friends. EVER.
*Things are just things. Hold onto them loosely.
*Bath and Body Works wall freshener thingies really do cover up the smell in your living room that you can't figure out where it's coming from.
*My mom is awesome too.
*It doesn't matter that you can't pronounce in your head all the names in "3 Cups Of Tea"...you are still getting the point that one person can make a difference.
*Summer is good.
*Every summer, the kids have a hard time adjusting to being out of school.

Boy, it's going to be a 3 post day! I'm off to my first shoot. :)

wonderfulness

I'm so excited about yesterday's shoot! My client showed me how to get to a location that I have been DYING to get to for like YEARS !!! But I've never been able to figure it out. There are like a million textures in this location. A million ideas. A million opportunities. I couldn't get enough of it.

Who's an ugly chicken? Who's an ugly chicken?

So our daughter calls us from school on Friday saying there's no one to watch the chicks (hatched in class for science) over the long weekend and can she take them home? Uh, okay.
But they aren't "chicks"...they are chickens. Actually, 2 roosters and a hen. And they aren't pretty. And they smell. Like you've walked into the monkey house at the zoo.

The whole time during this mini photo session in our garage, I kept thinking "Please don't peck my eyes out."

Please, anything but the eyes.

They are going back to school today. I'm so happy, I may do the chicken dance all day long. :)

And I love working on music CD shoots! Thank you thank you thank you for letting me hang with you while you jammed on the street. :)

Soft Summer Series

It's been warm and summer-y here in Colorado, but not so warm that it is freaky and scary hot. My goal was to capture that perfect summer breeze in some images. I think this might be an ongoing series. A bit of a quest if you will. :)

More sand

I keep staring at my beach pictures, like, was I really just there? Did I really stick my toes in the sand? And see the sun sparkle in the light waves? And have an iced Chai at my favorite cafe?


Today: Defeat the dandelion field that used to be our green lawn...groceries (or we will be living on popcorn)...and more sneak peeks from last week. Wow, maybe this will be a 2 post day. I know everyone is so excited. lol! :)
