The year of the FELT

Last night, I finished the kid's Halloween costumes. I am NOT a costume maker. I struggle with thinking of things 3 dimensionally. Always have. So, I have to say that I am completely relieved to be done with these costumes. They are both made out of massive amounts of felt and didn't cost much. I'll post pics tomorrow. :)

Today includes packaging up orders, typing invoices, setting up deliveries, playing orders, and at some point, taking a shower. Currently, my dog is asleep in my lap and it is so nice and warm, I just might stay here at my desk for another hour...just for the cuddle time.

Wednesday Smednesday

I am jammin through work today and that feels frickin AWESOME. I needed to have a day like today. I am going to keep working, proofing, costume making, exercizing, calling, typing my way to happiness...which lives at the bottom of my to-do list.

Oh, and a sneak peek! :)

I'm off to a shoot this morning, but wanted to post this sneak peek before the day got away from me. :)

Here's the second sneak peek of the day. :)

Toward the end of this session, I wanted to do a few of just the boys, by a really cool building, but there were these black bugs so we opted for another location just a few feet away, but found more black bugs. Then the husband said words that I will never forget..."Those bugs are deer ticks." Thousands of them.

I'm still itchy. Yuck. So, dear family, I'm so sorry I exposed you all to deer ticks. Thanks for being so gracious with the whole thing and hanging out with me. :)

Monday...post #1

I have 2 sneak peeks to post today. This is the first one. :) More later! I've got my hyperspeed photoshop skills on today.

And my favorite of the day:

I loved every minute of this session. Not only are we friends, this is the second time I've shot these kids. I love that, cuz real expressions come out and we just have fun.

balance

As I've been so busy over the last few months, scrapbooking (or really almost anything for ME) got put on hold. My down time became looking online for inspiration, reading blogs, and playing in photoshop.

All of that is good stuff. But it doesn't revive me. It doesn't make my brain slow down and just relax and create and play. So, today, I'm sorting through some scrapbooking stuff (just to see what I have!...I totally forgot what cool stuff I have!) and get my mind and office geared to be ready to create on a moment's notice. This feels good. Like there's a bit of balance in my life.

breaky break

Man, did I take a blogging break or what?! Really, without meaning to. Just doing life, doing some organizing, some family time, some birthdays, some sleeping. It's been great, but I better get my A game on, cuz the holiday rush is here. Lots of shoots, shopping, and halloween costume making.

Oh, and I promised a shout out to like the best Greek place around...Arabica Cafe. Oh my gosh, completely craveable!!! Super good falafels and hummus. Yum. If you're in Colorado Springs (or near by) check it out. They are downtown.

EDIT: My husband just left a comment that it's not greek food, it's middle eastern. SO, enjoy some middle eastern food! :)

Goodness comes in a red and white soccer uniform!

We have been so blessed being part of this soccer family. This is the girl's last year together and I am savoring every moment. :)

Okay, back to proofing! and maybe more coffee.

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

I just dropped our son off at school for science camp this morning. He was nervous and getting sentimental...saying goodbye to the dog and his hedgehog and me and his Dad and the house...
(((sigh))) his first time away from home.
As he was walking away in the courtyard of school to go to his homeroom class before the buses took them into the mountains, it took everything in me not to yell at the top of my lungs "I love you, Buddy!!!"

(i love you buddy. )

and on a totally different note...a sneak peek from this weekend's shoot! :)
